- Knife Sharpening: A sharp knife is a safe knife! Learn the proper methods for maintaining your knives, including how to use a sharpening stone, honing steel, and the best practices for keeping your tools in top condition.
Hands-On Practice: You’ll practice your new skills with a selection of fruits, vegetables, herbs and a whole chicken. As you work through these ingredients, you'll also get a chance to prepare chicken noodle soup to showcase your newly acquired knife skills:

Bring your own knives and take them home sharpened! If you don’t have a set of knives, we will have knives you can use during the class.
Chef Sean Kagy, a Bluffton native, has complied a wealth of culinary experience and knowledge during his career while working with four; “Mobil Five-Star” rated restaurants. He has served United States Presidents and dignitaries. At the Midwest Culinary Institute Chef Kagy helped with criteria for student learning. This world-class experience has allowed Chef Kagy to become a highly respected with his guests and colleagues.
